Hammerhead is a high performance paddle skate board invented and fine tuned by a long time stand up paddle surfer. During cold and blown out days on the water, he started riding a longboard skateboard with a rubber tipped pole to try and replicate the fun and exercise of stand up paddling (SUP) on water. What he discovered was that longboards are not wide enough to simulate a real SUP experience, they don't include real SUP deck padding, and their front wheels are exposed to land paddle wheel bite. He also needed a better designed, lightweight land paddle that would simulate SUP surfing.
